LA KidMin · Junior Bible Quiz
Twenty questions. Two teams. One buzzer.
JBQ turns Scripture memory into the best game in church. Kids in 1st through 6th grade study the Bible Fact-Pak, hit the buzzer before the question is even finished, and compete with teams from across Louisiana all season long.
Try it yourself
Take the quiz seat
Five questions, real JBQ rules. The quizmaster reads the question out loud. You are in seat four: hit your light the moment you know the answer. Buzz early and answer right for a bonus, buzz wrong and you get nothing, and wait too long and someone else on the box will take it. Spacebar works too.
When the question starts reading, hit your light the moment you know the answer. Interrupting the quizmaster and getting it right earns a 5 point bonus.
How it works
576 questions. One book that changes everything.
Everything in JBQ comes from the Bible Fact-Pak, a set of 576 questions and answers drawn straight from Scripture in the New Living Translation. Kids who work through it carry doctrine, key verses, and Bible knowledge for the rest of their lives.
10 points · quick facts
20 points · deeper answers
30 points · quoted Scripture
In a Masters round the quizmaster reads ten 10s, seven 20s, and three 30s. That is the twenty questions, and the team with the most points when they run out wins.
Who plays
Kids in 1st through 6th grade. Louisiana even lets kindergartners quiz at state level events.
Two leagues
Searchers for 1st through 3rd grade, Masters for 4th through 6th. Every kid competes at their own level.
The team
2 to 8 quizzers plus a coach. Only 2 to 4 sit at the box at a time, so everyone gets floor time.
The officials
Each round needs a quizmaster, scorekeeper, timekeeper, and judge. Churches send 2 trained volunteers per team, and we train them.
The 2026 to 2027 season
Five meets. Then State.
Louisiana runs two divisions, North and South, and each meets five times before everyone converges for the State Finals in March. Every meet has a theme day, and early meets focus on a slice of the Fact-Pak so new teams can build up question by question.
Meet registration opens by email about two weeks before each meet, or you can register your team for a meet online. Registration checks are payable to Louisiana District Council with JBQ North or JBQ South in the memo, brought to your first meet.
Start a team
Your church can do this. Really.
You do not need a big kids ministry, a budget, or any quiz experience. You need a handful of kids, one adult willing to coach, and a place to practice. Louisiana removes every other barrier.
New churches pay no registration fee their entire first year. Try JBQ for a season before spending a dollar.
The district loans first-year teams two quiz boxes, the buzzer equipment, so you can practice and compete without buying gear.
Coaches and officials get training and resources from the district. Bring willing volunteers and we will handle the rest.

Get the Fact-Pak
Grab the Bible Fact-Pak from biblefactpak.com, cards or app, and kids can start on the 10 pointers right away.
Gather your team
2 to 8 kids and a coach makes a team. Weekly practice can be Sunday nights, Wednesdays, whatever fits your church.
Come see a meet
Visit a division meet before you ever compete. One Saturday watching kids quiz will tell you more than any packet.
Beyond the trophies
The Bible Master Challenge
Meets crown teams, but the Bible Master Challenge honors individual kids for what they have hidden in their hearts. Quizzers climb four levels by answering random Fact-Pak questions one on one with an examiner.
Discoverer
Answer 20 of 30 random 10 point questions.
Searcher
25 of 30 tens, plus 15 of 20 twenties.
Achiever
28 of 30 tens, 18 of 20 twenties, and 6 of 10 thirties.
Master
59 of 60 across all three point values. A letter from the national office, and your name on the national JBQ website.
Every level is within reach of a kid who keeps showing up to practice. Ask any coach: the day a quizzer earns Master is a day nobody in that church forgets.
