The true definition of greatness
Dear Louisiana Leader,
Recently, while reading , I was reminded again of the true definition of greatness. Jesus made it as plain as He possibly could for all of us who truly desire to do great things. He spelled it out for every leader throughout time that serving IS great things. Serving is not the prerequisite for greatness. It’s not the pathway to greatness, nor does serving prepare you for great things. Serving is what defines great, serving equals great, serving is great. We never graduate from serving-we only get better at it! My prayer for you as leaders in the church:

May you model true Jesus leadership, by serving the people where God has placed you with passion and patience. May you tap into His never-ending source of endurance and excellence as you face the challenges of serving people every day!
Serving is hard work
I know serving isn’t always easy; actually, serving is hard work. It pushes many of us to our limits and reminds us how much help we really need to love like Jesus! Seriously, if you feel stressed, pressed, or even depressed in this season of serving, we are here for you. I am available and we have contacts of people who can help and serve you during this time. It starts with a willingness to be truthful about where you are and the struggles you are currently facing. If we are honest, we have all been in those challenging times of ministry. I think we all have reached difficult places in our own lives. If that is you right now, the best thing is to slowdown a moment, talk with someone, and set a course for “health” before a major compromise or collapse happens that will hurt you, your family, or your ministry.
