A Summer of Records

Camp season at Twin Lakes

Dear Leaders,

Summertime in Louisiana opens the door to Camps at Twin Lakes, Mission Trips around the World, and Family Vacations. I hope your family and your church are having a GREAT time of Ministry and Fun this Summer.

Charlie Allo and his Youth Team along with Tracey Guillory and the KidsMin Team have had amazing weeks of ministry this summer with records numbers in attendance. There is absolutely nothing better than seeing the altars in the Tab filled with students of all ages going hard after God. These NextGen students definitely KNOW how to seek God! Rangers started us off in May, and our Camp for Deaf Students finishes up our Louisiana Network Camps. Congratulations to Regayna Rester and Helen Woodward as they continue our rich tradition and ministry to the deaf started by Dorothy Scott and Joanne Lambert fifty years ago. Happy 50th Anniversary to our Camp for the Deaf!

Around the world

I’ve heard reports of church groups that have gone to Peru, Kenya, Mozambique, Germany, Panama, Colombia, Alaska, Argentina, Vietnam, Thailand, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Mexico. I am sure I have missed some. I love how so many people from different countries have been touched by our churches and how many missionaries we have served.

An on-ramp for new leaders

Our team is praying about developing a more effective on-ramp for new leaders to enter ministry opportunities. I’d love to get all our ministry school leaders in one ‘room’ and talk about options, discuss possibilities, and develop better strategies to see leaders step into their potential. So, if you have a school of ministry that equips leaders for ministry outside your church, let us know. I am compiling a list now and will set up an initial Zoom meeting soon.

Regional Meetings 2025

Remember our Regional Meetings will be happening SOON, so save the date and make plans to join us this year. We have elections for Executive Presbyters in each Region, and I will be presenting several key discussion points that Our DLT feels is important for our future!

NE Region // Luna Assembly of God, West Monroe // Monday, Sept. 22nd
NW Region // Gateway Church, Shreveport // Tuesday, Sept. 23rd
SE Region // Bayou Blue Assembly of God, Houma // Monday, Sept. 29th
SW Region // Crossroads Church, Lafayette // Tuesday, Sept. 30th

I know our Chi Alpha Missionaries are Praying HARD and Planning BIG for the new school year and I know all our churches are preparing for a great season of “post-summer” harvest! Our Network team is praying for you, and we ALWAYS stand ready to help and serve in any way!

Blessings,

Pastor Scott
